Purity Wanja

Purity Wanja Mutegi is happily married with three daughters and one son. Her husband works as a tailor, and they both farm in the land that they own. She is very happy making baskets she has been able to buy a solar panel to power her home, and also a few goats.

Her greatest, consistent challenge, like many amongst her village, is having enough water for drinking, farming, along with everyday tasks. However, the basket sales allow them to feel a sense of security amongst the inevitable challenges. She says this project has helped her learn to highly value herself, which helps her be a better role model for daughters.
